This series of photographs and postcards were sent by Danish relatives, mainly cousins, to the Margrethe (Maggie) Hansen after the family emigrated to New Zealand. They appear to be the family of Hans Peter's brother, Lars Hansen who lived in Copenhagen. Some are written in English but most are in Danish. They show the cousins growing up and then having children of their own. The early childlike greetings for Christmas and birthdays later develop into a pleading one way dialogue, asking why the postcards and letters are never responded to.
